Captain Cook Tour

This tour has proved very popular for the last two years and takes us on an eastward route towards the Cleveland Hills. We ride the famous Stokesley to Helmsley road considered by many as one of the best biking roads in the country. The road with its sweeping bends and smooth tarmac takes you through beautiful valleys and woodlands and has been likened by many to the famous Nurburgring. Time to relax over a coffee in the quaint market town of Helmsley before moving on  to the North York Moors National Park. The Park originally famous for its connections with Captain Cook has increased in popularity due to the television programmes  'Heartbeat'  and "The Royal". During the day you will get the opportunity to visit many of the locations seen on TV including the fictional village of 'Aidensfield'. The railway station there you may also recognise  having been used in the filming of "Harry Potter".

Below the moors lies Yorkshires "Heritage Coastline" and the old whaling town of Whitby, still a busy fishing port, it now depends more on tourism through its connections with the famous explorer Captain Cook, and inspiration for Bram Stokers  "Dracula".

Your guided tour commences 0930 Saturday morning returning to your hotel at approximately 1700. The actual tour route will be decided on the day and will be fully guided with one or more experienced guides. Led by our local guide you can relax and enjoy the views, safe in the knowledge that you are seeing the best scenery, the right places and enjoying some great biking roads.

Many people are apprehensive about riding in a group, however all our guided tours are at an easy relaxed pace. There will be frequent stops for refreshments, photo stops or just to stretch your legs. We will stop for approx 1 hour for a lunch break.

This a great value weekend your tour package includes  3-course Evening meals, en-suite accommodation at a Yorkshire Dales Inn and full English breakfast. Leaving you only needing to budget for lunch, petrol and your drinks.

You will need to travel to our tour base on the Friday. As the inn closes in the afternoon you should try and arrive prior to 2pm or after 5pm. Your room will be available from noon onwards. Departure will be after breakfast Sunday

Tour prices are per person, based on two sharing and are inclusive of the following:
En-suite accommodation with colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities.
